Kansas Small Business Person of the Year

Wagonmaster and Wichita small business owner has been named the Kansas Small Business Person of the Year for 2011 by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
 
Bill Ramsey, president and owner of The Bill Guy Technology Solutions was recognized by the SBA for his dedication to his community and his role in driving the nation's economic growth.
 
"I don't think you ever expect to win an award like this. It's a big honor," Ramsey said after receiving the letter of notification. "I just try and do the best I can to run a good business for my customers. I am really thankful for them."
 
As the award winner for Kansas, Ramsey joined more than 100 outstanding business owners from around the county to attend the National Small Business Week celebration which took place in Washington, DC, May 18-20, 2011.
 
Since 1963, the President has issued a proclamation calling for the celebration of small business during the National Small Business Week. The annual celebration recognizes those small business owners that not only achieve personal success but also significant contributions to the nation.
 
The top entrepreneurs in the country will be honored this year at the event marking the 58th anniversary of the SBA and the 48th annual proclamation of National Small Business Week.
 
The culmination of the event will be the announcement of the National Small Business Person of the Year.
 
During his time in Washington D.C., Ramsey had the opportunity to meet with top administration officials, congressional representatives and national business leaders and toured the Google offices.
